We have now published our approach and pilot test of a new readiness assessment tool to determine capacity for alcohol-related harm prevention. We adapted the strategy used by the WHO in assessing capacity for addressing child maltreatment. This work was conducted with the West Africa Alcohol Policy Alliance and we hope it can be used regionally, as we did, but also nationally and locally to determine strengths and gaps to address the significant burden of alcohol harm, particularly in low-resource settings. Read the publication outlining our steps and findings here.
